Prelims, Prelim Exams

The prelim term has just ended.  And to sum it up, it was a total disaster.  A total wreck (?).  Let me give you a clear (yet blurred?) picture of what I've been through during the first part of three parts of this semester.

Pain and Surgery.  It was our subject for the entire prelim period.  It was a roller coaster ride: it had a lot of ups and downs.  Ups include easy quizzes courtesy of Ma'am Sharon Vicedo, Sir Leon "Wawie"/"Wowie" Fojas, the handscrubbing return demonstration, the lively discussions facilitated by our professors.  The downs, on the other hand, include a lot of "tragic memories" (?), like the gowning return demonstration, surprise pre-tests by Ma'am Resty Tan, the unit exams, and of course the "Ayoko nang mag-nursing"-inducing term exam.  And yeah, the first day fu*k...  The day when I arrived 15 minutes late for our first RLE day.  I became the first-ever make-up duty "awardee" in our batch.  Hehehe...

Pharmacology.  No matter how good the professor is, wala pa rin talaga akong matutunan.  Maybe because I do not have the interest for the subject.

LiteratureParang wala lang.

REEDIsa pang wala lang.  Our prelim period of REED could also be called "The Braveheart Class."

RLE/duty days.  Our first rotation was a fun experience.  And the next rotation turned out to be a torture.  There's a rain after the rainbow...? (WTF???!!!!)

PRELIM EXAMS

Pain and Surgery.  A real pain, according to Rhys the @$$.  Kung nakapag-handa at nakapag-aral lang ako at least one week bago ang exams, hindi sana ako nanghuhula ng isasagot.

Strategies of Health Education.  The term exam was an easy one, but the quiz attached to the term exam contained items which I was unfamiliar with.

Pharmacology.  We had an overdose.  Literally.  We were caught by surprise.  When I was still looking down at my test questionnaire pretending that I was choosing the right answer (when in reality I was just thinking of happy moments, to distract myself from the torture I was going through at that time), Ma'am Vicedo asked us if it was ok for us to take the unit exam along with the term exam.  It seemed like we had no other choice, so we took the unit exam.

Correction: Unit EXAMS.  It had around 5 pages of pure torture, ranging from basic terms and history of Pharmacology to the enumeration of different types of a specific drug and formulation of nursing diagnoses.

LITERATURE.  I read "An Ounce of Cure" and "A Rose for Emily" in lieu of reviewing for Pharmacology.  And since Fate was a bit tough that time, the two "short" stories were not included in the exam.  The essay type of test plagued the exam.

REED.  A breather.  Thank you Sir Vladimher for making a not-so-difficult exam.  Hehehe...
